John was widely recognized for his knowledge and expertise in engineering, his administrative ability and his leadership and dedication.John had the distinction of working as a professional engineer in three provinces - Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Newfoundland.Mary will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Marion is survived by her loving husband, Gerry, also a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home; her sister, Isabel (Frank) Kehoe, Halifax; herbrother, Gerry (Marina) Burke, Sarnia, Ont.; and by many nieces and nephews. He is survived by brothers, Maurice and Gerry Ladouceur; and sisters, Henrietta Gibson and Denise Roy.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Joe Laben, brothers, Danny, John, Michael, Allen, Alex and Heckie, sister, Margaret, grandson, Edmund, son-inlaw, Romel Le Blanc, and special friend, Billy K. Mary was employed at Sydney Airport for many years and played an active role in the development of the Port Morien Chowder House as well as the Miners Museum. She was a member of the Reserve Mines Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and an honorary member of the Reserve Mines Senior and Pensioners Club. David is survived by his wife, Myra (Allen), formerly of Summerside, PEI.APENS also bestowed upon him the APENS Service and Gold Medal Awards.John served as elected president of APENS and served two terms as APENS representative on the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rene La Belle on October 1, 2010 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex surrounded by her loving family. Ronald James ‘Big Jim’ Mac Lean, 74 of 144 Cornwallis Street, Sydney, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at home. Mac Lean will take place on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. She was predeceased by sisters, Jennie Nicholson, Helen Martell, Peggy Mac Donald, a sister in infancy and by a brother, Lawrence.
