Also i noticed one thing if i Auto Generate the Columns All events are fired without any problems but if i use Template Field only Edit Event is fired that is only once.
Sorry i know i'm posting a lot of comments on my own question.
I have tried to add an event handler to the Row Updated event of my custom control but it is not called.
I have tried to override On Row Updated in my custom control, but the breakpoint never gets hit.
I tried btn Insert_command and btn Insert_Click events.
The event handler is being registered with a feature that I am deploying. If you remember, in Step-2, we did bind the Grid, which is actually called on the Page Load like… Add(new Literal Control( )); I m not able to fire the SQL Connection’s Info Message event - here s the code that I ve set up The normal message that i d expect to see in m SQLMessage is (12 row(s) affected) but the m Connect.
You have to make sure that you aren't setting your Grid View's data when it is not postback.
Do you have some sort of Java Script functionality that may be stopping it? A common problem people have with Grid Views is understanding when to data bind the data source to the Grid View.
I would recommend trying this out and starting a new thread in the .
NET Forum so that other people can learn from the experience too. -Frinny You may need to turn off validation even if you are not validating anything.
thanks, David I m using a wireless barcode reader that s inputting data using HID.
Is this a reasonable assumption, and if so, does anyone know which event might be being fired and know of a way to check what it s doing.
On Row Deleting - can call registered event handlers" I couldnt figure out how to continue this thread, but the issues in it are related so i'm including it as a reference.
