This error indicates that there is a problem in the installation file of AVG.This can be solved by reinstalling the antivirus with the method specified above.everytime i tried to uninstall AVG it was either automatically restart or the screen is freezing/stucked and eventually won't continue to uninstall it.. The whole uninstallation process involving the AVG Remover utility is described in details in this AVG Forums article. If you delete the installation files, whilst AVG is still running, that turns it into a nightmare to sort out. Your computer will be restarted during the procedure. Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation. Make sure to use either the 32-bit or 64-bit version, depending on your operating system's architecture. DO NOT install AVG's so-called "un-installer"...it's another scam. Hi The first thing is to make sure you do not delete the AVG installation files, whilst you are still using AVG. Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the uninstallation. In case the uninstallation was not successful, use the AVG Remover tool: Save all your work and close all documents!
Each time I have to use AVG Search to then go to Chrome. That's why uninstalling AVG from your computer doesn't help.
After the computer reboots, the tool will complete the uninstallation and from that moment on you can reinstall the antivirus.
Do not forget to use the latest version published on their website.
This can be caused by severe performance problems on the endpoint machine, but in some cases it has been found to be due to a corrupt AVG installation.
First check for any system resource issues on the machine where the update is failing (low RAM, high CPU utilization, etc.), and whether there are any other performance related problems.
Wait until the installation finishes, restart your computer and restart the installation of AVG.
